Re: hacking 0.19.1, my experience

hacking 0.19.1 is glooming over the horizon. I've been able to startup now until the splash screen is there and then I'm getting this error after ending the startup after 30 seconds 


"waiting for X server to shut down gnome-smproxy: unable to connect to session manager"

I'm running enlightenment and without enlightenment gnome won't startup at all. So I'm wondering what this session manager problem is. I've been looking on the old mailing list posts but coulden't find any good hints.

Hi,

I read your post on the garnome mailing list.
You have to edit /usr/test/garnome/etc/gconf/2/path
There are four uncommented lines (last time I checked)
Two of them refer to /etc, the other two
refer to ~/.* (somewhere)
You have to comment out the lines referring to /etc,
and you gnome2 should start up.
