[gamin] Gamin very heavy on resources

Good evening,

I have two boxes: the first one runs Debian Linux with KDE and the second one runs FreeBSD with XFCE. On these two boxes, I have loads of gam_server processes running which use a lot of (nice?) CPU-time.

I've googled around and it seems usual, but none of the solutions provided worked for me.

Is there anything I can do, please?

Any help is much appreciated.
