Hi This seems to be a reasonable place for a preliminary mention a Gnome game I just whipped up in an effort to learn some basic Python/Gnome programming and to get something fun out of it; apologies if this list is supposed to be exclusively for the gnome-games package (though I wouldn't object to this game making it into the package at some point :) Anyway, Ghextris is a reimplementation of the good old semi-free Xhextris (no Xhextris code was peeked at during the implementation, though ;). It is basically Tetris except that the pieces are composed of hexagons instead of squares. At this point, the game is fully playable, though lacks some features like a persistent high score list and installation scripting. (Pointers to howtos or examples on the use of python-gnome2's high score bindings would be appreciated.) I thought to mention it here despite the suboptimal packaging in the hopes of getting some feedback on the basic game functionality, scoring, difficulty, possible brain damaged decisions made due to relative Python/Gnome newbieness etc. Besides that, it _is_ a fun game already; hope you enjoy it :) Download is at <URL:http://www.iki.fi/mjr/software/ghextris.tar.gz> -- Mikko Rauhala - mjr iki fi - <URL:http://www.iki.fi/mjr/> Transhumanist - WTA member - <URL:http://www.transhumanism.org/> Singularitarian - SIAI supporter - <URL:http://www.singinst.org/>
