There were several reasons. Mostly to do with the amount of maintenance
it required (and wasn't getting) and with the lack of use (no bug
reports in over 18 months). It also doesn't seem to have much
replayability. I have been having second thoughts about this recently, I
assume you are keen on it ? I'll look into putting it back in.
