Dear Foundation Members;
We've taken couple of complaints about some members did not get their
ballots because their membership is not valid. Reason behind this is
they did not get renewal notices from membership committee. Even though
we have announced dates weeks before elections start, it's
understandable that some of members did not check their membership
considering their membership is still valid.
Since it's trivial to process renewals and it's better to run elections
more fairly, we're extending voting period one week to let active
members to renew their membership. We've sent renewal notifications to
those membership has been expired.
Previous members whom did not get their ballots due to their membership
status, can renew their membership before December 2nd, 2006 (23:59
UTC). They will get their ballots on December 3rd, 2006 so that they
will be able to vote for Board of Directors 2006 elections.
For those taken their ballots for election already can use their votes
anytime before December 16th, and those who will take ballots on
December 3rd, 2006 will be able to vote after this date to December
16th.
New timeline for elections is below.
PS: This will not affect members with valid membership before elections,
which have taken their ballots already. It just adds one more week to
think about their votes for them.
