In GPL enforcement, if anyone is prosecuted, it would be the GPL
violator.  But normally this would be a civil suit, meaning that
nobody is prosecuted.

In a previous message, you spoke of the FSF as "defending" the author.
In a GPL enforcement action, the defendant would be the GPL violator.
The copyright holder(s), whether the FSF or the authors or whoever,
would be the plaintiff(s).

So I have a feeling we are fundamentally miscommunicating.
