The only way the Gnome Foundation will come to own the code is if
either (a) someone assigns it to them or (b) someone employed by the
Gnome Foundation makes substantially transformative changes to the
code such that the Gnome Foundation becomes the lawful author of some
version.

The presence of a copyright notice in a file does not establish actual
copyright, although erroneous copyright notices do create a defense.
