First of all, make sure you are using sqlite3 (you said sqlite and if that's the case that's why you can't open it... if that was just shorthand for sqlite3 then there is a problem).

What version are you using? It sounds like a bug that was fixed in 0.8.2 regarding incorrect dates and times.

I was importing some pictures and f-spot crash, now it doesn't load at all and throws an exception regarding malformed date and time. Trying to open the database directly with sqlite says that "file is encrypted or is not a database" shit!! its a reaaaly bad situation anyones knows some way to check the integrity of the database? is there any possibility of recovering?
