Find Duplicates while importing does not work

I am running f-spot 0.5.0.3 on Ubuntu Jaunty. To test the duplicate
detection feature, I simply copied 11 already imported pictures to a
folder and tried to re-import them into f-spot. Although I checked the
"find duplicates" box, 7 of those pictures were imported again. This is
not quite what I expected...
