Importing multiple directories

If I import files from directories A, B, and C and I *don't* allow
f-spot to copy them to a single location, is there any way to move the
files about without recreating the catalog every time? Unless I'm
mistaken the change directories extension just changes the target
directory that f-spot copies files to by default.
