Re: Plea for sanity in f-spots date/time handling

@Nyall: sorry for the duplicated message, I forgot to send the reply
to the list :-)

I fully agree with you.

I really like F-Spot (if not, I wouldn't be trying to add video
support, see [1], although I haven't been really active there because
of a personal issue, I don't forget that construction site) But the
date&time handling really pisses me off. Specially because it isn't
documented anywhere! I found it out the hard way: after tagging around
3000 pictures! If I had known it before activating the "Save metadata
to file" option, I would have never activated it!

I find your proposal meaningful: Having a configuration checkbox to
set this feature on/off would be great. Patching F-Spot to avoid this
feature is peanuts, but I also think that a solution should be found
for the mainstream. I suppose that I could try to do a patch for
having that option, but I don't want to do it if it'll never get to
mainstream.

My question would be: is there any change that such a patch would get
to mainstream?

I never heard about that time-zone feature that you mention, could
anybody give me a link to the relevant discussions? I find that
feature interesting.

Hasta la vista,
    Silvano
