Hi there, this is my first mail to this list, I'm not a programmer, just an enthusiastic user. I want to suggest to simplify the search possibilities in F-Spot. F-Spot has powerful search options, but they are spread and hidden in the menu or behind key strokes. I attached a mockup of my idea how I would imagine a simple but powerful search capability in F-Spot. Problems by now: [1] First I have to write critic about the "default search" which is available when hitting ctrl-f. You can access this search bar faster by double clicking the corresponding tag in the side panel. Furthermore, you must access the side panel anyway if you want to do complex search within your tags. [2] I also have to criticize that the text search is hidden behind a strange keystrok "/". On a german keyboard, you have to type shift - 7 to type "/". This is a local problem, however, I wish to access a search function with ctrl-f, and not with some weird, easy-to-forget and never-heard-before keystrokes. Suggestion: An all in one search bar which is accessible by hitting ctrl-f. This search bar gives all filter and search options of the F-Spot gui. Therefore it has three areas: - One area where Tags are dropped - One Text input field for searching within file names or comments or tags - Drop down menus for selecting import rolls. Was this already discussed? What do you think about it? Should I open a bug for it? Regards, Comicinker
