I just registered to smugmug to try F-Spot and I could upload without
any problem at fist try.
When you add a new account, if connection is correctly established you
should see your username in the drop-down list next to Account. If it
doesn't get populated it's probably NOT connecting. Since you apparently
don't get any error message, please try running f-spot from command line
(terminal), and report the lines written to console when you try to
connect.
