Any other programs need to be installed for extra functionality?

Hi,

I just installed f-spot on Ubuntu Dapper (f-spot v.0.10), to use with
an Olympus e-500.  I take in jpg and Olympus RAW format (ORF).

The ORF files didn't get thumbnails, and I couldn't view it in edit mode.

On a hunch, I installed dcraw. After installing dcraw, thumbnails were
generated, and I could go to edit mode.

I'm just wondering if there are any other programs that give extra
functionality to f-spot.
