Don't forget to mention Nat's tagging feature: you can press 't' in f-spot and a tagbar will show up.  There you can enter the names of the tags you want to attach to the selected photos.  Just press enter and they are applied.  It really helps for fast tagging.

Hmm, maybe it's about time to include this in the user guide ;-)
