Hello.
I am a new F-spot user, and a new ubuntu user as well. I do not know anything about coding, and hardly anything about linux, but I do take a lot of pictures and tend to spend a lot of time organizing those.
For me the idea of albums sounds very good, I was wondering could it solve my recourceproble. I have quite large database of pictures, about 28000 pictures now and at least the same amount still waiting to be uploaded to the database.
My computer is quite old, so it takes a really long time to do anything with the pictures, and the program crashes quite a lot.
Could this album thing be done in a way that the program would be dealing with one album at the time, instead of the whole database. Like if I have 28000 pictures, I could have 10000 personal pictures, 10000 work pictures and 8000 pictures of hobbyes, all in their own albums. So when I am going thought my personal pictures I the program would have to run only 10000 pictures database.
For me it would be importtant to have curtain pictures in more than one album, and it would be important to have possibilities to search tags from more than one album at the time.
And I think it would be good to have one kind of temporary album, a place I could drag images temporarily, without actually moving those on the disc, so I could sort them, try some different ways to arrange those, and when I am ready, export those to a folder//webpage/flicker/whatever. That is one feature I would be very happy with.
