Fejj, i agree with you, it might be confusing and really obstructing.
Mac does it this way and i struggled using it, when i was trying out
various mail clients.

Initially, it was like, u have to expand to DnD attachment, which was
difficult. but now thatz fixed. You drop any where, it attaches.Probably
we can propose to bring it again. But resize definitely as some
advantages. But im not sure, whether we can make it like dont resize
beyond a size. If so i would definetely love to do.
