of course a very good idea, i also thought about that, that's why i
patched to the latest stable version (2.2) and its release date.
but i disliked the idea of having future dates in evolution builds -
running 2.3.4 and reading a message that claims to have been sent by
evolution 2.4 could confuse people. don't know, just my 2 cents (of
course the main issue of my patch was changing the bugzilla url, so i
didn't really thought a lot about that).

right, so that should be done before announcement period starts. it
seems that aaron and/or rodrigo wrote the welcoming message text for 2.0
(at least it seems to me looking into the cvs changelogs) - so who
should write it for 2.4? :-/
