it will need changes in camel and composer API though (camel_text_to_html, e_msg_composer_set_body_text). I would prefer to commit this patch first and open another bug for that.

the original patch still has a sense, because if you send broken html mail with unclosed <blockquote type=cite>, the reply will end with quoted signature, even with \0 issue fixed.

is it OK with you to commit the patch and change the bug summary? it's not regression, so I think it may even end as 2.1.x bug.
