Unless you're interested in contributing to development, you'd be well
advised to stick to the stable version of Evolution, which currently is
3.42.


thank you for the advice, good advice. I accidentally upgraded to dev ubuntu Jammy Jellyfish, backing out is 
difficult, and the evo 3.42 packages are not available in the dev ubuntu repository
