        Hi,
if I recall correctly, the SMTP uses the Socks proxy. Is this IMAP and
SMTP or another account type? What is the error you see, like cannot
reach the server or anything else? What if you set the Evolution to be
always online? It's where you change the proxy settings, in the Network
Preferences.

You can get detailed information, if you send with the SMTP, when you
run Evolution as:

   $ CAMEL_DEBUG=smtp evolution

By the way, what is your Evolution version (Help->About), please? Even
these things are handled lower in the stack, it still would be nice to
know it.
