the above is marked as being fixed for 3.32.2+, thus it should work -
unless there are more changes in ICU 64.2 or something. Seeing clear
compiler errors would help, if there are any, even though your 'steps
to reproduce' do not indicate compile time errors, it looks more like
mismatch of underlying libraries. That would mean, having error
messages would help as well, even those from the terminal. Just note
that when you downgrade/upgrade libraries which change their soname
version withing the version change, then you should rebuild *all* the
libraries & applications which use them and once done then also restart
them (and their background processes, if there are any such).
Evolution upstream expects the latest version of GNOME dependencies
Nope, that's not true, Evolution(-data-server) "GNOME" dependency
requirements didn't change for years. Yes, there are ports like from
gtkspell3 to gspell, which happened for 3.34, which was meant for good.
and a way outdate release of icu.
As long as it's fixed by issue #102, not anymore :)
