Simply because id the back using restore, you are doing it on the
same machine.

I don't know what "id the back using restore" means. The backup file
can be copied to the new machine and imported by Evolution on the new
machine (if the Evo version is the same or newer on the new machine).

Why don't you simply clone everything to another computer?
