Spell checking works fine in that unknown words are highlighted in the
composer. However there used to be a list of possible correct spellings
if you right-click on the highlighted word - that doesn't exist now.
Doing a "proper" spell check (i.e. Edit -> Check spelling / F7) works
and gives suggestions, the suggestions just don't appear in the right-
click context menu.
Does this happen for others? Or is it just me?
It is bug [0] and is fixed in Evolution 3.20.4 that will be released
today.

OK. Thanks. I did search for a bug, but I'm never very successful at
finding them!
(And to decode what it actually says in the commit - if you highlight
the word, it works, the fix makes it so that it works on the current
word as well.)
