I searched google repeatedly, which is why I just posted a follow up on the bug report.
The issue is it is still occurring, and still present, if you go to contacts in evolution and try to add a new book, and choose google.

Hi,
it has nothing to do with the update of the Fedora/Evolution. If you
click the URL you'll see a big red banner describing the issue.
Evolution still "uses" ClientLogin for Google contacts created within
Evolution, which the Google server disabled.
Just search the mailing list archive (check the URL at the very bottom
of each message in this list) for "AuthForInstalledApps" (quotes for
clarity only) and it'll give you quite few results. The same if you
search GNOME's bugzilla ( https://bugzilla.gnome.org ) for the same
term in the Evolution and/or Evolution-Data-Server product. [1]
Even a Google search for "evolution AuthForInstalledApps" gives some
useful results.
Bye,
Milan
