Is it possible to open email files (.eml) from command line with
Evolution, the same like a new email? The problem occurs when recoll
returns a search result (which is a file in a filesystem) and
Evolution doesn't support anything like '--file' to open it like
regular message.
No, it's not possible, Evolution is designed to read mail associated
with configured accounts, not arbitrary files. I suspect there's just
too many operations that relate to mail folders and so on (such as
"delete" "move" etc. - how do they relate to an arbitrary file) that it
would be an extremely non-trivial change to provide the functionality.
Is it possible to do it in current release or take into account in
future releases of Evolution?
If you want it considered for the future then you need to file an
enhancement bug in Bugzilla. If you do so, then post the bug reference
here so that others can find it if they have a similar issue. If enough
people want it, then it might get to the top of one of the developers
To-Do list.
