I have installed Linux Mint and did the following:

dconf-editor

/org/gnome/evolution/mail/mark-seen
/org/gnome/evolution/mail/mark-seen-timeout

(schema: org.gnome.evolution.mail) 


The Dconf editor does not have evolution settings.  Does anyone know how to
remove auto-read in Linux Mint?
