Hello,
While writing a mail with the MUA 'mutt' and using vim(1) as editor one
can use a feature called "auto completion": you type the first few chars
of the word and press Ctrl-n; this will lookup the word in a dictionary,
normally based on the dic of ispell(1) (or other files), and gives you a
list of matching words from where you make your choice;
is there something similar for Evolution 2.32.3? thanks in advance;

There is the external editor plugin.
From
http://jeffreystedfast.blogspot.com/2008/02/speaking-of-hack-week-projects.html:
In case teh new gui configs are not approved for 2.22, get
evolution-plugins-experimental package. Then enable external-editor
plugin.
Then export EDITOR=xemacs and choose
File->Compose in External Editor
