Hi,
it didn't, evolution still supports it. You should ask to
"gnome-clock-applet" (I know, it's not it, it's the new code) whether
they removed it or why it doesn't work (maybe for you only? I cannot
check myself, I'm not using it).
This bug [1] can be also related, as it touches the code, but it's
included in 3.2.0+.
