Hi, I have been using evolution on a Ubuntu wubi install (Intrepid) for
several months with everything functioning very well. However about 2
weeks ago I started evolution to enter a new appointment for work and
all my appointments for all my calendars have disappeared. While this
is annoying and frustrating It wasn't a reason to freak out as I had all
my different calendars saved as .cal files. I went to import these
files - followed the normal process and at then end nothing happened. I
then tried to add a new appointment but nothing happened when I selected
New Appointment.

My next step was to launch evolution from the command line and try to
use the calendar to see what errors came up. When I clicked on the
calendar button on the main in-box screen I got the following error,
repeated 3 times.

(evolution:10008): calendar-gui-WARNING **: Unable to load the calendar
Unknown error

when I tried to add a new appointment I received the following error.

(evolution:10008): calendar-gui-WARNING **: Default client not loaded

I was wondering if I have somehow deleted an essential component and
have tried re-installing evolution through the synaptic package manager
but I still get the same conditions. Any help would be greatly
appreciated, as I do use the evolution calendar for work and trying to
use a spreadsheet (as I am currently doing) is both time consuming and
frustrating.
Are these calendar's created, 'On this Computer' ? Please run
evolution-data-server (EDS) on a separate terminal,

/usr/lib/evolution-data-server-1.2/evolution-data-server
or
/usr/libexec/evolution-data-server-<version>

and run evolution. Please send the output from the termnial where you
started EDS.

John Curwood

The version of Evolution I am using is 2.24.3, hence as you correctly
identified Ubuntu 8.10 with updates.

I think the downgrade of Ubuntu may not be relevant, Evolution did work for
many days before the present problem showed itself.

Looking at the error report, hence I think the problem is with the 28 values
Evolution was expecting, but only 26 were supplied.

      Hi,
it's a problem with your folders.db files, which are not in the proper
version. Some tables had been downgraded properly, probably, but not
all. For some reason. I would recommend you to delete all folders.db
files from ~/.evolution directory and its subdirectories, and let
evolution recreate them on he next start. The problem is that some
information will be lost on local folders. Maybe rather move those files
away than delete them, to have them ready to put them back if something
goes wrong. You can move out also files with .ev-summary, .cmeta, .ibex*
extensions, as those will be recreated too.

How much are affected your address books or calendars hard to say.
      Hope that helps,
      Milan

      Hi,
I assume you are talking about a composer. Those font formatting
functions are available only for HTML mails, not for plain text mails.
Try Format->HTML to have this turned on for actually editing message, or
set your preference in Edit->Preferences->Composer Preferences, the
first check "Format messages in HTML".

Just note that not all users like HTML messages, neither, for example,
some people on this list. (I, personally, prefer plain text mails too.)
      Bye,
      Milan

That answered my question I was merely exploring a possible option to highlight

a portion of a send, but if HTML is only option I like you will pass. Thanks

More information is needed - e.g. evo version number, which
window/menu/composer are you talking about??

There are often times when I would like to share a prospective email
message with social networking sites. But, I am struggling to find a way
to be able to customize the Evolution Email toolbar in order to add the
script. Is there a way to do this that I am not finding?
