I need some help to understand why some of my mails hit my trash without
my knowledge. No filters telling mails to go to trash, and they aren't
marked as junk and I haven't deleted any of those mails.

This is almost certainly mail that has been moved to another folder.
There is no move operation in IMAP, so moving mail is done by "Copy,
then delete". In IMAP, deleted mail is available in Trash, until you
use the function "Expunge".
Trash is really a "pseudo-folder", it simply lists all mail that is
marked as deleted from any mailbox.

So although it seems a little confusing, if you move a mail from, say,
your INBOX to a folder called "Misc", you will have two copies of you
mail, one in INBOX, which is marked as deleted, and a new copy in
"Misc".
The deleted mail in INBOX is listed in Trash.

This also happens if you have filters moving the mail around.

Hi KÃre and Patrick
Thanks a lot for your good and fast explanation. You are both correct
that I have moved and filtered mails from Inbox to other folders.

This get's a bit confusing because you don't know which mails you
actually have deleted and other you only have moved. As I now the reason
for this behavior it's easier to work with.

Wish you a nice weeekend.
