As mentioned, 2.28.0 is (IMO) crap, but it was fixed REALLY fast. Unfortunately due to gnome's release system, the fix was only released at 2.28.1, unless you want to compile it yourself (that's what I did). I haven't touched my Buntu install for ages, so I have no idea what version Karmic has.
