The IMAP IDLE extension allows conforming servers (e.g. Cyrus,
Gmail, ...) to notify clients of new mail, without the latter having to

It seems that support for the IDLE extension was planned for Evo 2.24
but didn't make it. It's now on the roadmap for 2.26. Does anyone know
if it's really going to happen this time?
I was told years ago (on this same list) that IDLE was not a standard
(no RFC and al), and as such, was not planned to be ever implemented for
Evolution.
It's been an RFC since 1997: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2177
Nice. You don't have to convince me, though.
