Hello to the list,

Gnome Evolution is great tool, without discussion.
But it takes about one minute to startup. Why?
I have disabled the spamassassin and bogofilter plugin. With the
gconf-tool I did the same in the Gnome registry. But this does change
anything on the long startup time.
Starting evolution in an xterm does not show any errors or warnings.

Why is this so and how to solve this?

What happens if you start up offline ("evolution --offline")?

Evolution needs the same time to startup.

Maybe something in your environment. What kind of machine and system is
it (Linux version? CPU speed? RAM?) Do you use Gnome or KDE? If you quit
Evo and start again immediately, does it still take as long?
