mail-notification quit working for me once I updated to evo 2.6. The debian bug report hints that

Well, unfortunately the Evo path and version is kind of hardcoded, thus
mail-notification needs to be updated when Evo is.

I posted this a while ago on this list.

You can get mail-notification to work with a simple patch if you're
happy to compile it from source. I have it working with 2.6 quite
nicely.

Updating and fixing this is the distros duty, IMHO.

The patch was here
(http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/garnome/geektoys/mail-notification/files/), called
mail-notification-2.0-evolution-2.6.diff however I notice now there is a
mail-notification-2.0-evolution-2.8.diff instead. It may or may not
work for 2.6, I haven't tried it.

/me puts on his GARNOME maintainer hat

Thanks, Iain. :-))

If it doesn't work, let me know and I will post the 2.6 patch for you.

Since the *-2.8.diff is updated to work with the current devel versions
of Evo and the next stable major release, this particular patch will not
work for Evo 2.6.

Anyway, the above link points to CVS HEAD, whereas the gnome-2-14 branch
sure still has the proper fix for Evo 2.6.
