Set CAMEL_DEBUG=1 and launch evolution from a terminal. The debug spew
can let us know what is wrong. Set the 'Use Secure Connection' to
Always
or Never as dictated by the server setting.

The command delivers the following output:

arjan norrod:~$ set CAMEL_DEBUG=1
arjan norrod:~$ evolution
adding hook target 'source'

(evolution:17252): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with
NULL parameter.

(evolution:17252): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with
NULL parameter.

(evolution:17252): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_gc_set_foreground: assertion
`GDK_IS_GC (gc)' failed

(evolution:17252): evolution-mail-WARNING **: Error occurred while
existing dialogue active:
Could not connect to vmdeb01: Connection refused

With 2.6, you may be able to choose HULA as an account type to
configure
Evolution against the server.

I'm using Ubuntu breezy which contains Evolution 2.4.1, don't know if i
can update Evolution to 2.6, which is included in Dapper.

But changing the setting 'Use Secure Connection' to 'Never' seems to
solve the problem, I'm able to read message through imap.

Thanx,

Arjan
