Sorry for the late response.
Is there any way to change certain colors in evolution's calendar
without altering the source, like a gconf key or something? It takes
much more time than necessary to find the current day in the calendar's
month view, because only the small color difference between black and
blue (text color of the day number) can help to distinguish it from the
other days.
No, AFAIK this is not possible.
Anyway, IIRC there are already bugs filed about this topic. And I do
agree, the "highlighting" of the current day isn't catchy enough by
far...
