as far as i remember, evolution 1.2 provides only one addressbook, so it *is* the default by default. ;-)
If it still doens't work, please run Evolution and Evolution-data-server from console and file a bug in bugzilla.gnome.org with the log messages on console.
evolution-data-server was introduced with evolution 2.0 and did not exist for evolution 1.2. furthermore, any new evolution 1.x bugs will be closed as "obsolete" in bugzilla, because evolution 1.2 is ancient history. it's more than four years old and not maintained anymore. please update to a newer distribution which provides evolution 2.6.x or 2.4.x. anyway, of course you can start evolution from a terminal window and post the output here. but i doubt that many people remember how 1.2 worked. :-/ cheers, andre (looking for his time machine to provide better help) -- mailto:ak-47 gmx net | failed! http://www.iomc.de
