What effect does Threaded Message List in the View menu have?
I couldn't tell the difference.
I'm running Evolution 2.2.1.1.

it groups related messages (eg replies ) into a tree structure. It isn't
perfect and will miss messages if the other mua does not preserve the
messageids.

What are the thread related headers that evolution recognises?

I always get mail from a particular person which evo (2.2.1.1) doesn't
put in the thread, even though when I look at their message, they have
some headers called "Thread-Topic" and "Thread-Index"... They don't
have "X-Mailer" though, so I don't know what client they're using...

Thanks,
