[Evolution] Understanding the directory system

Could anyone explain the directory structure in Evolution 2.0.2 please?

In addressbook/local there are a whole host of files such as
1104155018 3809 27 localhost localdomain 

What is in each of these files? I do not understand why I have so many.
Are they backups or do they reflect different address books? I have 58
of these plus a similar one called system.

I am asking this because I am having problems rescuing some contacts and
want to know where they might be located.
