no, at least on this mailing list nobody told you that this was solved in newer versions - check the archives. rereading your posting from february, jeff wrote about your second issue being already fixed, but to file a bug report on bugzilla about the encoding problem (which was the first issue of your mail in february).
Now I have upgraded to 2.2.2-4 and bug still remains:
