Re: [Evolution-hackers] Re: [Evolution] Gal retired and merged into evolution

The required gal sources have been moved into evolution in the following order:-

evolution/e-util <- gal/gal/util
evolution/a11y <- gal/gal/a11y
evolution/a11y/e-table <- gal/gal/a11y/e-table
evolution/a11y/e-text <- gal/gal/a11y/e-text
evolution/widgets/table <- gal/gal/e-table
evolution/widgets/text <- gal/gal/e-text

Umm, why was e-table moved to widgets/table and not widgets/e-table?
And what happened to its changelog?
There was already an evolution/widgets/e-table (and e-text) existing few years back. So, we had to move e-table and e-text widgets with different directory names. This was done to preserve the cvs history of the old widgets/e-table and widgets/e-text.

The ChangeLogs have not moved. Like for gal/gal/menus which has merged into evolution/widgets/menus, if we move the ChangeLog of gal/menus into widgets/menus, there would be two places where future changes of widgets/menus could be present. i.e. one at widgets/Changelog and other at widgets/menus/ChangeLog. Subsequently, we might only use widgets/menus/ChangeLog, but it would confuse someone looking for old changes. However, we could still add the existing Changelog of gal/e-table to evolution/widgets/table, since it is new directory.

And if you were going to do that - why didn't you do the same with a11y?
Luckily, there were no previous e-text or e-table directories existing in a11y earlier.

Thanks,
Kaushal
