Umm, fireforx doesn't use gtkhtml.

So, completely irrelevent.

In firefox (another gtk application), this problem has
been resolved somehow. My firefox use 16pt and 18pt
fonts for the screen, and yet it prints at 12pt.

Howdy,

It seems that if I use anything other than a tiny

large. (14 or even 16 points seems to be the

way to control the fonts separately. Am I missing
something, or is there
really no way to control these independently?

Not currently.

GtkHTMl gets its fonts from the gtkstyle; i dont
think we can override
that (in code) just for printing either? I'm not
sure.
