[Evolution] Two problems; zombie and no sound alerts

Hi

I have two problems with my evolution 1.4.6 on my debian sid,
kernel 2.6.8.1 SMP i686 GNU/Linux

1:

After short time of using evolution, I see a zombie process:

I have no experience with zombies, how can I prevent it? or kill it?


2:

I use alsa and "play" or "xmms" work without any problems.

If I try to set up

Tools->Settings->Mail Preferences->New Mail Notification=>Play Sound
file when new mail arrives;

...nothing happens when mail arrive. 

I really have no clue why not since all other applications seem to work
fine.
