I also reported this on the bugzilla too.
Gerardo novell changed the target_milestone to 2.0.2. I guess the plan
is to just show the subfolders of favourit'ed folders, but I've heard
nothing official.

http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3D68412

I have a similar problem with public task folders too.

Well the full log perhaps (stdout and stderr, script is useful), and
what you did to generate it. i.e. 'i started evolution, and it never
got past scanning the imap server and then i quite', or whatever is
appropriate.

As for sending mail, maybe you don't have smtp (smtps if you're using

How can I generate more pertinent information?

It's probably not very helpful to say the same settings worked

Also it might take awhile for the filter to "learn" what kind of spam
you get....

To the person who suggested procmail:
Yes, client-side filtering is slower, because it has to download the
messages and filter them while you're waiting for it. It is better to do
on the server side, where filtering happens as messages arrive and you
don't have to wait. But, server-side isn't always available, and isn't
nearly as easy to train ("SSH to your IMAP server, and run the sa-learn
command on messages that haven't been tagged properly" isn't exactly
user friendly, or even available to all users). If you do it client-side
via procmail, you'll still be waiting.

You can improve performance somewhat by running spamd; this is
particularly useful when filtering multiple accounts... it's a must on
the server side, but that's another topic.

Subject: [Evolution] Cannot see public folders

Hi all,

I am having a similar problem to that one posted by Ramunas Strauka on
Thu, 20 Nov 2003.

I cannot see the public folders in the MS Exchange server (2003), while
I can create folders, get and send e-mail, get meetings and accept them,
an so on.

My system is:

Suse 8.2
Evolution 1.4.6
Connector 1.4.7

Server

MS Exchange 2003.

Any idea of what is happening?

I am new at Evolution. I have configured it to use MS Exchange to

Inbox

I have filters setup so that all my important mail goes into one of

I then wrote the attached script that checks the size of the Inbox

Inbox Monitor
looks at and alerts me via a visual icon in a panel).

The problem i am facing now is:

If Junk is a "virtual" folder... how can i either:
  * Tell from the message headers that a message went to Junk

you can't

  * Tell from a certain file that the message is filed in Junk

you can't

I can then modify my script to look at message headers instead of file
size etc...

Subject: [Evolution] address book related hang?

--=-PRXumgoGTClKwJ9YXvWD

I had been using evolution pretty smoothly.

Suddenly, evolution would hang every time I started it up. It would
never finish scanning folders.

So I mv'd ~/evolution{,.old}, and then I could run evolution again.

However, I missed my previous, rather large address book. So I did:

 1011 cat addressbook-sources.xml=20
 1012 cp vfolders.xml ~/evolution/.
 1013 cp local/Contacts/addressbook.db* ../evolution/Contacts/.

...but I still wasn't getting my usual, large addressbook.

So I went to another system I used to run evo on, that has a pretty
similar address book, ran evolution-export-addressbook, and imported
that into my troubled evo.

And immediately, evo started hanging.

I evolution --force-shutdown'd, and restarted it, and then it was fine,
but I still didn't have my nice, large address book.

What do I need to do to get my old address book back?

Thanks!

...and what you did to generate it...

$ evolution --force-shutdown
$ CAMEL_DEBUG=all ./evo.sh

The Error dialogue says "The Application "evolution-2.0" has quit
unexpectedly." and gives me the option to restart. When I click "Restart
Application," nothing happens. Re-running the script and Restarting the
Application causes the Evolution window to open on the third try.
Navigating to the local Inbox I display the Welcome message. The status
messages at the bottom (when I click on "Loading..." underneath
"Openexchange," my IMAP server) say `Scanning folders in "IMAP server
ned.hgeng.com" (...)' after which I Cancel (`Evolution Error: Error
while Scanning folders in "IMAP server ned.hgeng.com".: Success.') and
Exit. This is done from a new account on my Linux box (so ~/.evolution
was created from scratch); the ~/.evolution in my regular account has
many megabytes of converted email folders which display correctly, but
the server issues are the same.

Mike
