Does it make a difference if you've already clicked on the Calendar
component? I notice that it doesn't seem to initialize when evolution
starts, only when you click on it.

In my case clicking on the calendar component makes no difference.

I do not get notification about meetings too. But I noticed that my
gnome-clock-applet shows my meetings an hour late. I've double checked
my timezone settings both system and Evolution, but if I set my meeting
on 11 a.m., gnome-clock-applet shows that it is on 12 a.m, and Evolution
acts accordingly, it issues notification an hour later. Maybe the same
it is the same problem?

no, I don't get any notifications at all. However I think now think the
problem started when we went on to daylight saving. I seem to remember
that I had this problem in one other version of evo too.

Developers: Are you sure that there are no lurking assumptions that
offsets from UTC/GMT are in the range -1200 to +1200? We are currently
-1300...
