[Evolution] configuring the colors in evolution

Hi,

I want to be able to configure the colors of evolution, as in the window
colors, title bar, menu bar etc.. 
It only seems possible to choose a *theme* in the gnome-control-center,
which doesn't allow individual color picking of eg. menu bar, window,
toolbar etc.
How do I do this? How do I get the message window in evolution to be
light green, the folder window to be light blue etc.?

I have tried doing it from gnome window manager as well, no luck

My system is RH 9, evolution 1.4
 
any tips appreciated.
