[Evolution] No way yet to make maildir default format ?

Good morning all,

I've just finished googling for

site:lists.ximian.com maildir default

and find many questions asking if this is possible. Even a bugzilla
filed back in 2001!

Can this be done yet?
If so, how?
If not, why?
