Re: [Evolution] BUG: Evolution frozen when inactive for a while

Ever since I upgraded to evolution-1.4.5, if I leave evolution
running, it eventually craps out. If I kill/restart, it's fine for as
long as I'm using it. But then I go do something else and it dies. I
can't notice a pattern in timing (how long it takes) or in what I go
to
do. I've included the output of the backtrace commands that Jeffrey
posted, in the hope that someone here can help.

I have exactly the same problem with 1.5.4 and I have no idea how to
trigger it. It became a lot less when I stopped using it as a
newsreader
though.

I wonder if this (all) isn't just bug 53876?

I really doubt it, as I don't have any IMAP mailboxes configured :)

I have this bug too. 1.4.5 freezes after being inactive for a while; the
CPU monitor often reports that it uses 100% CPU cycles. After killing and
restarting it works OK.

I suspect that the freeze actually happens while auto-checking mail. But
it's not IMAP, just several POP boxes. I do not use anything else besides
these POP boxes and the contact list (i.e. no UNIX mbox spool account, no
IMAP boxes, no newsgroups, I don't even use the calendar).

I don't know how to get a backtrrace for a program that hangs rather than
crashes; I'd be thankful for instructions so I can get it to you.

(Right now it's version 1.4.5 patched for the subject line bug, but the
same happened in original 1.4.5).

Yours, Mikhail Ramendik
