This usually means the network stack is having issues finding/talking to the dns server.
I only get it when suse decides to wipe my /etc/resolv.conf for its own reasons or when my network access is down. The hostname lookup interface in libc is pretty terse with error detail.
'nslookup foo.com' etc may also produce similar results(?).
Those warnings are unrelated.

Hi All..
When I check mail, I tend to get the same error over and over (but on
different servers). I check around 8 or so pop3 servers, many of them
are on the same host, but the error seems to happen on different
accounts each time..
I get a GUI pop-up that says..
"Error While Fetching Mail."
"Host Lookup failed. mail.various.xyz: unknown reason."
if I run Evo from the console, I get (see below)
(evolution-1.5:7157): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwindow.c: line 1883
(gtk_window_set_transient_for): assertion `parent == NULL ||
GTK_IS_WINDOW (parent)' failed
(evolution-1.5:7157): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwindow.c: line 1883
(gtk_window_set_transient_for): assertion `parent == NULL ||
GTK_IS_WINDOW (parent)' failed
Any Ideas on how to seem to fix, or perhaps look into further?
